Terms of Service

Last updated July 2026

The short version

  • · No contract, no setup fee, no minimum. Stop whenever you like.
  • · We take a small percentage of what you raise. Nothing else.
  • · We never ask your donors for a tip.
  • · The money belongs to your school, not to us.

1. Who may use PledgeHop

PledgeHop is for schools, PTAs, PTOs, booster clubs and similar groups. By creating an account you confirm you are at least 18 and are authorised to raise funds on behalf of the organisation you register. Students do not create accounts.

2. Your responsibilities

  • · Get whatever permission your school or district requires before running a fundraiser.
  • · Only upload student information you are permitted to share, and keep it accurate.
  • · Describe honestly what the money is for, and use it for that purpose.
  • · Keep your login secure, and tell us promptly if an account should be closed.

3. Fees

We charge a percentage of funds raised, shown before you launch a campaign and on our pricing page. Card processing fees are charged separately by our payment processor. There is no setup fee, subscription or minimum.

We do not ask donors for a "tip" or voluntary contribution to PledgeHop. What a donor pledges is what the donor pays.

If we ever change our fees, we will tell you in advance, and the change will not apply to a campaign already running.

4. Pledges and payments

Payments are processed by Stripe and are also subject to Stripe's terms.

Per-unit pledges. When a donor pledges an amount per lap (or mile, or minute), their card is securely saved and is charged after the event, based on the units the student actually completed, and never above the maximum shown to the donor when they pledged.

Payouts. Depending on the option your school chooses, funds either settle directly to your school's own payment account, or are held by PledgeHop and paid out to your school. Funds raised belong to your organisation.

Refunds. Refund requests should go to your school in the first instance. We will help process legitimate refunds, and we may reverse a charge where required by law, by a card network, or in cases of suspected fraud.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use PledgeHop to raise money fraudulently or for anything unlawful, to upload information you have no right to share, to harass anyone, or to attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service.

6. Your data

Your organisation's information remains yours. We process it as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export or ask us to delete it at any time.

7. Availability

We work to keep PledgeHop running reliably, but we cannot promise it will never be unavailable. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PledgeHop is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees we charged your organisation in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

9. Ending your account

You may stop using PledgeHop and close your account at any time; there is no notice period and no termination fee. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms or is being used unlawfully. Any funds already raised and owed to your organisation will still be paid out.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will let account holders know by email before it takes effect.
